FAQ - Reporting & Statistics Questions

Who benefits from taking the Senior Ministry Inventory?

Individuals and couples: Church Resources recommends that when implementing the Senior Ministry Inventory the pastor of the congregation encourages every individual and couple who are 50 years old or older to take the Inventory. Although individuals in their 50’s are not chronologically old, they are part of the generation that are becoming care-givers for aging parents and other family members. The Senior Ministry Inventory is a great help to care-giving families as well as to seniors.

Every person who takes the Inventory receives a four-page, full color, confidential report. This report benefits the individual by identifying specific life-arenas that need attention as they grow older.

Participating congregations: All congregations that implement the Inventory receive an anonymous 50-page summary report of all Inventories. All congregation reports are confidential and are only provided to the congregation. This summary report assists the pastoral staff and church council in the preparation of budgets and programs to meet specific, identifiable senior needs within their congregation and community. In order to safeguard the confidentiality of the individual, congregation reports are only provided to congregations that have 20 or more individuals complete the Inventory.

Judicatories of the Church: All participating judicatories receive compilation reports of senior needs within all participating congregations. Church Resources will consider a judicatory to be “participating” when we receive a letter from the head of the judicatory (Bishop, President etc.) requesting us to make the Inventory available to congregations in their synod. To safeguard the confidentiality of the congregation, judicatory reports are only provided when 20 or more congregations have implemented.
